Titanium Nitride TiN

Titanium nitride is the most frequently used ceramic coating on machine tools. Bright gold in color, it is often applied where both wear resistance and appearance are important.


TiN will last for thousands of rounds on your firearm parts when cared for properly.

Zirconium Nitride ZRN

The most biocompatible of the ceramic hard nitrides, Zirconium Nitride is lighter in color than TiN gold. It is used extensively in cutting applications where other coatings have failed. Its light gold (champagne) appearance, high corrosion resistance, and high hardness have made it the standard coating for high use hardware.


Color Range: Mauve (purple/gray)

Hardness: 2900 to 3100 Hv (Vickers hardness)

Titanium Carbo-Nitride TiCN

Titanium Carbo-Nitride is an abrasion resistant ceramic coating formed by adding a small amount of carbon to the TiN coating during the deposition process. The carbon makes the coating harder and gives it a lower friction coefficient.

Titanium Aluminum Nitride TiAlN

Titanium Aluminum Nitride is a tough ceramic coating developed for machining at high temperatures. It can be used in a wide variety of applications due to its high hardness and good ductility. Its excellent wear resistance has made it the coating of choice in many non-machining operations.

Silver Lubricious Phase SLP

Silver Lubricious Phase (SLP) is a variation of Titanium Nitride (TiN) gold. It is used mostly in applications where the appearance of a coating is meant to go unnoticed!
